The Great Southern Walk is Kent’s newest charity challenge — a 15-mile route through the breathtaking Kent Downs, alongside a 5-mile family walk perfect for all ages. Held on Sunday 14th September 2025 in Thanington, Canterbury, the event brings together individuals, families, and businesses to raise funds for two life-changing local charities: The Prince of Wales Youth Club and Rising Sun.

The Prince of Wales Youth Club has supported Canterbury’s young people since 1935, providing a safe, inclusive space where children and teens build confidence, develop life skills, and find community through youth clubs, sports, holiday programmes, and mentoring.

Rising Sun is a vital local service offering support to women, children, and families affected by domestic abuse. They provide advocacy, crisis support, counselling, and safe accommodation across Canterbury, Ashford, and Folkestone & Hythe — helping survivors rebuild safe, independent futures.
