The Great Southern Walk may be about the challenge of the trek, the beauty of our Kent countryside, getting out into nature and keeping fit – but it’s also about having fun!
We are delighted that we have the support of local businesses and an army of volunteers to make this day into a celebration of our community.
- Sports experts from Kingsmead Leisure Centre will be leading an energetic warm up with music at the start of the walk.
- Local company Level Health Physiotherapy, will be setting up their gazebo and offering free physiotherapy assessments and treatment. Perfect for sore muscles after the trek!
- Lord Mayor of Canterbury Keji Moses will be handing out our medals to returning walkers as they come through our specially designed finisher’s arch.
- Our army of volunteers will be helping set up, marshalling on the walks, manning water stations, and cheering on walkers as they return from their walks.
And for all the walkers, after such an effort, no doubt they’ll be wanting a bite to eat. To wet your appetite, we’re delighted to confirm that on the day, to greet you as you return from your amazing walk, there’ll be a whole host of delicious food and drink stalls, including Hat Hats Coffee Company, Pizza Di Napoli, Sumo Donuts and, of course, an ice cream van! More stalls are being lined up, so watch this space!
We really can’t thank everyone enough for getting involved in the day – it’s going to be incredible!
